Built 1393 to 1401 by Richard II it is the largest medieval timber roof in Northern Europe spanning 68ft by 240ft long.
The grade 1 listed hammer beam roof contains 13 carved angels. Dolmen undertook a two-year conservation program of sensitive cleaning and timber conservation. The project consisted of detailed repairs, re-fixing of indents and carved elements with 8-12 carpenters working out of hours shifts to accommodate the daily usage of the hall.
